Okay Friendlies...

  • Apr. 21st, 2008 at 4:23 PM

I'm off to opening night at the ball field!  I'll catch up with everyone's posts when I get home.  And...I bought my son a new shirt today.

I know. Big deal.  BUT.  It had a sticker on it that I had to remove.  The sticker said: This shirt glows in the dark.

I've been studying on how to write humor.  I started thinking about what if?

What if my toenails glowed in the dark?

What if my teeth did?

What if my awesome characters in my new WIP sneezed and their spit glowed in the dark?  So cool!  It would be pretty, if nothing else.  *G*

I know this is all silly, but I'm supposed to be letting my creative side get as stupid as can be with this humor course.

Off to cheer my youngest daughter on in the 80 degree weather.  *G*

Not to be a downer, but it's a strange coincidence--I was just reading about Marie Curie, and how radium was a popular element at first (before its true dangers were known). Ladies at a factory used paintbrushes to apply radium to watch faces, so they'd glow in the dark--and they licked the brushes...(Ack!) One of them said when she blew her nose at night, her handkerchief glowed. Eww...

But, yeah, you could make the glow be from something SAFE and mysterious. :>)

Why in the world would they lick the brush? LOL.

But, hmm... Perhaps my glow in the dark spit characters will have poison spit too! *G*

They called it tipping the brush. To bring the end to a point, I guess. Then they'd get it on their teeth and skin and show people how they glowed in the dark. *Shudder*

It was pretty creepy, how they treated it as a novelty. They used to put it in their drinks, too.

Poisonous spit would be interesting. :>)
