Too Funny

  • May. 8th, 2008 at 9:12 AM

You know what I would love to be doing right now?

Printing up my full to mail out.

I can't though, 'cause, um, I used up all my printer ink printing it up for my daughter.  And...I'd go buy some more except we seriously only have $50.  That's it!  I'm so delirious from lack of sleep that I think this is like ROTF funny.

Can I call myself a starving artist yet?  Okay, I can't.  I'm actually not starving because I'm munching on a hot dog and some Doritos as I type this.  And I know very well that hot dogs and Doritos aren't on my post-book diet, but I mean, I'm working on a new book, so I don't have to diet anymore!  YAY!

What a relief.  I'm going to have to start a new diet plan with this one though.  Usually I live off peanut butter and jelly when I'm writing.  Not good.

Dear IRS,

Where the heck is my tax rebate already???  Work computer depositer people at the IRS--work!  Your country needs you!

Okay, I don't know what's funnier, you not having ink to prink because you printed for your daughter or this line, "Work computer depositer people at the IRS--work! Your country needs you!"

Have a great day!

This reminds me, let me tell you one of the most heart-felt things my husband ever did for me - I asked him to print my full ms out at work for the same reason (runnin low on ink). So I emailed it to him and he not only printed it out, he three hole punched the whole stack and put it in a new binder. I seriously cried. I guess it was the first real validation I got from him as a writer - that he would spend the time doing that was huge.

I hate buying ink cartridges every month!

How very sweet! My husband would not do this, but then again, he works at a steel mill. Likely it'd come home covered in black fingerprints. lol

Walgreens refills cartridges. I've never done it, but I hear it works well. I think it's only $10 for black and $15 for color.

Oh yay! And around every corner there's a Walgreens--unless you live where I live. I'd have to drive for 45 minutes to get to the closest one. We always miss out on all the good things! :-(

I've almost got my wife convinced that we need a laser printer because of my writing. It's a good sign for me because it means she's starting to believe.

That is a good sign!

Actually, I could take my MS to my parents' and print it out. You reminded me they have a laser printer.

Let me lend you some of my imaginary money? :)

I guess one cheap thing about living overseas is that most agents are willing to make exceptions and take electronic copies.

Oh imaginary money is the best!

I get a paper check, so I get to wait a whole 'nother month. I used turbo tax and elected to have the fees deducted from the refund, and I guess if you do that it routes it through a secondary bank account, and the IRS only has that bank number (even though MY 1040 has my bank info) so they can only do a paper check! ugh!

Oh dear, I can't recall if we had the fee deducted or not this year. Crap!

If you can pull up your bank account info online, you can see who deposited the return-- if it says US GOVERNMENT Or IRS, you're good to go. If it says RAL or SANTA BARBARA BANK Or something similar, it means you'll get a paper check according to the IRS schedule.

Do you have one of those refilling stores nearby? It's usually half the price and unfortunately, there's none up here in my new locale. Too bad there's no printer ink fairy.

No refilling stores around, but yay for Wednesday paydays! New ink tomorrow!

Yeah, I wanna know the same thing too. Where's my deposit? They said they were gonna do the direct deposits a week early but my account is still depressingly empty.

I'd like to know where mine is as well. I guess the operative word for government here is "slow as a snail".
Isn't it great that you have this problem...if no one wanted the full ms then you wouldn't be needing more ink.

Oh but what if they had to wait on us? *G* No, no, no. This wouldn't do! Kinda like when you overpay that credit card. They sure don't rush to send you your refund. I had a doctor that overcharged one time and I had to pay before service was rendered. When I got my insurance statement in I went up there to get my money back. They tried to tell me they didn't make out those checks until the middle of the month. I left with my money anyway. *G* Catch me on a bad day and boy... well. ;-)
